Description:
Ironhand is a soft active exoskeleton for hands and fingers. Pressure sensitive sensors in the fingertips of the glove detect the grip the user is performing with the hand. A computer integrated into the system calculates the additional grip force required, and small servo motors pull thin cables in the finger links. The higher the pressure on the sensors, the more power Ironhand delivers. The glove can be individually adjusted to personal preferences as well as the type of work to be performed. Data collection enables digital risk assessment of the hand. Grip-intensive applications with a high ergonomic risk can be identified by analyzing the data in practice and taking appropriate countermeasures.
Grip force support for the individual finger limbs is made possible with drives from FAULHABER.
