• The Activator Pro is a Braille display that is available in two versions; with 64 or 80 eight-dot Braille cells.
• The Braille cells have a curved arrangement (concave) to better fit the shape of the fingertips.
• The Braille markers have an adjustable resistance to match the individual pressure.
• The supplied computer keyboard has blue keys marked for Braille input (Perkins input mode). There is also an extra row of function keys (F13 – F24) on the top.
• The Activator Pro 80 has an extra keyboard with 10 Quick-Access keys on the right side.
• The Brailleshot function saves the output as a text file. This file can in turn be transferred to a connected device using the DirectTransfer function.
• The Braille Split function makes it possible to have two devices connected to the Activator 64/80 at the same time. The braille bar can then be split for the two devices, with the user determining how many cells are used per device.
• With the ATC technology, the fingers are tracked on the braille display and can automatically go to the next line when the end of a line is reached.
• With the integrated braille monitor, a sighted person can read the braille text on the braille cells on their iPhone screen.
• Dictation function & voice output enables communication with deafblind people (Braille dialogue). The HelpTech+ app for iPhone and iPad converts spoken communication into braille and vice versa, the text entered on the braille display is converted into speech. The accompanying app converts both typed text and dictated text using voice input (speech recognition) into braille. In the reverse direction, any text typed by a deafblind person on the braille display is converted into text on the screen or read out in the app.
